They have a great selection of mailing lists that you can join. They promote women's legal equality in Australia and promote women's use of a range of computer mediated communication tools. Commonwealth Office of the Status of Women Office of the Status of Women provides policy advice to the Prime Minister and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women. They provide information on the work they do, their networks, projects, events, media, publications and Women in Australia. Domestic Violence Resource Centre DVlink is the initiative of a partnership between the Violence Against Women Specialist Unit, Local Courts and the Women's Domestic Violence Court Assistance Program. Although NSW based, the news, reports and papers, statistics and links are relevant Australia wide. The Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby promotes legal equality and actively campaigns for legislative change to reduce discrimination. Their campaigns involve Superannuation, Relationships, Anti-Violence Project, Workplace Discrimination, History Project and Legal Advice Service. Their site is useful for current news and offers helpful links to related organisations. Their fact sheets include Discrimination against gays & lesbians, Relationship Rights, Age of Consent, Superannuation, Lesbian & Gay Parenting and Workplace Discrimination. National Women's Justice Coalition The NWJC is a coalition of organisations and individuals which aims to promote women's equality before the law in Australia. The NWJC advances women's equality before the law in Australia by promoting broad awareness of women's justice issues, networking nationally, and providing advisory and technical assistance to members working on women's justice issues. They provide current news and publications on legislation and issues, legal help, information on events and a legal tool kit with links to many useful resources. Partnerships Against Domestic Violence On this site you will find information about the Partnerships Against Domestic Violence initiative, including its priority themes, taskforce, the projects it funds, and its national evaluation. You will also find facts about domestic violence in Australia, the Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse, publications and reports, links and media information. Women Lawyers on the Web (NSW) Information and assistance for NSW female legal practitioners in the form of news, events, speeches, research and publications. Womens' Electoral Lobby Australia Inc. WEL Australia is a national independent political organisation dedicated to creating a society where women's participation and potential are unrestricted, acknowledged and respected and where women and men share equally in society's responsibilities and rewards. Reports are available on current legislation and cases before the courts. Other information is provided on legal issues, media releases, submissions, newsletters and law reform. Women's Justice Network is a pilot project connecting Rural and Indigenous women to Legal Information and Advice through Technology. Women's Rights Action Network Australia WRANA works to facilitate Australian activism for the promotion and protection of women's human rights in domestic and international arenas. Working Women's Centres support women employees or women who wish to work, whatever their age, ethnicity or work status, by providing a free and confidential service on work related issues.
