The Australian Taxation Office is a statutory authority responsible for the administration of Australia's taxation system. This site is divided into four main sections. For Individuals, Businesses, Non-Profit Organisations and for Tax & Superannuation Professionals.
The Legal Database is a collection of legal and policy information. Here you have access to much of the material the ATO uses when making decisions, including: Legislation and supporting material, Public Rulings, Determinations and Bulletins, ATO Interpretative Decisions, Case Decision Summaries (details of important decisions made by the ATO), ATO Practice Statements (directions to ATO staff on how to apply the laws administered by the Commissioner), Tax related case law, ATO Policy Papers, Annual Regulatory Plans and Freedom Of Information.

The Taxation Institute of Australia is Australia’s premier independent taxation organisation. Much of the information on this site requires a membership. Most legal and specific information is available for a fee. Some general news and information is available for free.
The Tax Office has a responsibility to assist taxpayers to understand their rights and obligations and to meet acceptable standards for service delivery. The Tax Office also has a responsibility to deal with taxpayers who do not meet their obligations under the law. The Taxpayers' Charter outlines these rights, obligations and standards.
Australia Institute of Banking and Finance provides the occasional article on taxation law.
