The Taxation Institute of Australia is Australia’s premier independent taxation organisation. Much of the information on this site requires a membership. Most legal and specific information is available for a fee. Some general news and information is available for free.
The Tax Office has a responsibility to assist taxpayers to understand their rights and obligations and to meet acceptable standards for service delivery. The Tax Office also has a responsibility to deal with taxpayers who do not meet their obligations under the law. The Taxpayers' Charter outlines these rights, obligations and standards.
