The Criminal Justice Commission is an independent, government-funded body that acts under the authority of the Criminal Justice Act 1989. It is charged with monitoring, reviewing and initiating reform of the administration of criminal justice in Queensland and fulfilling those criminal justice functions that cannot appropriately or effectively be carried out by the Queensland Police Service or other agencies of the State.
