Western Australian Legal Centres Western Australian Legal Centres provide free legal information to assist you in understanding and protecting your legal rights. They provide confidential advice aimed at assisting people in making informed choices and decisions about the options available to them. Within the legal system, they also perform important roles in court representation, advocacy, law reform, test case litigation, referrals and community legal education. Albany Community Legal Centre PO Box 5205 Service covers the lower Great Southern Region of WA, which extends from Walpole to Bremer Bay and north to Newdegate, and provides family law and general legal assistance and a mediation service. Open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm. Armadale Information and Referral Service PO Box 297 General legal advice one day per week by appointment. Financial counselling, advocacy with Centrelink, Homeswest and other government bodies. Boogurlarri Community House Association 82 Langford Avenue Bunbury Community Legal Centre PO Box 1089 Provides preliminary advice and minor assistance on general legal issues, particularly with child support and family law matters. Family and community mediation service. Citizens Advice Bureau 25 Barrack Street Provides advice and information relating to most areas of law including family, civil, consumer, vehicle accidents, neighbourhood disputes, simple wills, Powers of Attorney and Probate. Initial legal advice given, no legal representation. Some Family Court documents provided. ranches situated in Albury, Fremantle, Kwinana, Mandurah, Midland and Rockingham. Community Legal & Advocacy Centre Birmingham Centre Provides advocacy with Centrelink, Homewest, other government bodies, financial counselling, legal advice & community legal education. Consumer Credit Legal Service Level 8, City Arcade Office Tower Assist West Australian consumers with problems with credit, banking and financial services. Assist by way of free telephone advice, representation, legal information and training, consumer input into industry practices, initiate pro-consumer legislative reforms. The centre operates as a community legal program within a migrant resource centre. Provides initial advice, minor assistance and casework. Main area of work is family law. Community education provided to specific ethnic groups on primarily family law and domestic violence issues. There are also branch offices at Roebourne and Newman. Pilbara Community Legal Service - Newman office Box 1 Pilbara Community Legal Service - Roebourne office Box 269 Rural Community Legal Service PO Box 601 Generalist legal service providing advice, assistance and case representation for residents of the Central Wheatbelt. Southern Communities Advocacy Legal & Education Service Civic Boulevard Catchment: Kwinana, Rockingham, Mandurah, Pinjarra areas. Provides a free legal service with initial advice and limited casework on tenancy, criminal including children's court matters, equal opportunity, limited family law, welfare rights, immigration, consumer, criminal injuries compensation and unfair dismissal as well as law reform, community development and community legal education. SCALES also has a specialist domestic violence and court support service to victims. SCALES operates a legal education clinic with Murdoch University. |
