Queensland legal centres provide free legal information to assist you in understanding and protecting your legal rights. They provide confidential advice aimed at assisting people in making informed choices and decisions about the options available to them. Within the legal system, they also perform important roles in court representation, advocacy, law reform, test case litigation, referrals and community legal education. Arts Law Centre of Queensland 109 Edward Street Legal and accounting advice for artists by appointment on Monday evenings (consultations available by telephone for regional residents). Cairns Community Legal Centre 451 Draper St Provides free legal advice to the local community by way of telephone advice on Tuesdays (9am-1pm) and face-to-face legal advice every Thursday evening (6-8pm) by appointment. Peninsula Community Legal Service c/- Redcliffe Neighbour Centre Offers general legal advice and information with an emphasis on family law. Service operates first, second and third Wednesday evenings of each month - 7.00 to 8.30 pm. Solicitor available by appointment as support for disadvantaged clients. Explanation and completion of legal documents, assistance with writing of letters, referral. A free service. South West Brisbane Community Legal Centre PO Box 122 We provide free legal advice, assistance and referrals. Small fee for various documents ie; wills, Family Court forms etc. Interpreters arranged.
